With Levi’s 501 Day just around the corner, I decided to pick out 2 pairs of the classic fit and give them my own personal twist.
See how I personalized my Levi’s 501 Jeans on 501 Day back in 2018 here.
Here is a quick tailor shop to finished product concept from my YouTube Channel
The fit on the Levi’s 501 has been one of my favorites and the jean is a true classic. My initiation to the brand, although ages old (I think back in the year 2000), I rekindled my love for the 501 back in 2015. That was the year Levi’s gave the 501 an interesting twist with the 501 CT, which was a customized tapered fit.
For this year, I decided to take 2 pairs of 501 Jeans and get them customized at the Levi’s Tailor Shop. The Tailor Shop project has come full circle, having completed 1 year and it all goes down on the 18th at Famous Studio, Mumbai. I am going to be there with the STYLABS crew, customizing your jeans for you. Which is why I decided to experiment on my personal pair.
This is a pretty straightforward job if I am honest. The master tailor took apart the jeans at the seams and then put them back together as contrasting panels. There’s a lot more I wanted to do on them, but the time being I will let them be clean as they are now. As with every pair of 501 Jeans, the more you wear them and the more they become “your very own” they develop character and thereafter I think I will go on to adding in additional details.
PS: I must point out, these 501 jeans come with a bit of stretch unlike the earlier models, so are a lot more softer, a lot less rigid and very comfortable too.

Back in the day, I was amongst the first to talk about teaming your Levi’s Jeans with Streetwear.
I also speak about how the Levi’s Made and Crafted 512 Jeans are my favorite to wear this summer of 2019.
