Nike Air Ship (Every Game) – The “Nigel Sylvester” Pair We Got

Back in March ’23, BMX Rider Nigel Sylvester posted images of the Air Ship on Instagram that got people (like me) really excited for the pair.

The pair with nice details like “Bike Air” on the heel (instead of Nike Air) and insole prints with his signature word “Go” as well as a mini Swoosh on the toe, just brought the pair together so well. Reminiscent of his AJ1, this pair too had an aged aesthetic to it.

This really got me hooked, until, of course they later announced that this was only a Friends and Family pair. Ughhh..

What we got instead was a similar rendition (albeit without those interesting details) as the Nike Air Ship Every Game.

The pack paid tribute to (as weird as it sounds) Michael Jordan’s University of Carolina practice shorts, that he’d wear under his NBA shorts during “Every Game” for good luck. I know right, storytelling at times can be really wound up. Lol.

I loved the details on the pair. Like the cracked leather (reminiscent of the A Ma Maniere or more recent Lost and Found AJ1), the shaggy suede on the blue panels, and the aged outsole. Also, for me, it was the closest I could get to having a pair of Nigel Sylvester’s Bike Air Ships.

Luckily for me, these were easier to get my hands on, than I imagined, from The Dubai Mall Jordan Store. When I walked in, I was actually also very tempted to complete this pack by getting the Mystic Red colour way. But better sense prevailed and I stuck to this one pair.

The pair runs true to size, like it would on your AJ1 pairs. So stick to your AJ1 size. It has a nice elasticated band on the toe (you can see in the review video) that improves articulation when on feet. And you’d see that the midsole and outsole, are what you’d generally see on an AJ1.

Trivia: Michael Jordan played in the Air Ships which were actually the “banned” pair, and not the AJ1.
