Streetwear Fit of the day, is a segment dedicated to styling your sneakers and outfits.
To kick things off, here is a video review of the hero of this post – the adidas Originals X Porter NMD C1 Chukka from my YouTube Channel.
Yoshida & Co is a Tokyo based manufacturer of bags and accessories. The company is best known for it’s Porter brand of products. They take pride in being a “Japan Made” brand and are also manufacturers of famed YKK zippers you see on denims and jackets. Porter constantly collaborates with other brands on limited edition collections. This collab with adidas Originals is one such limited edition drop. Alongside the NMD Chukka sneaker, they also released 2 bags true to their heritage.

The sneaker, much like the 1st Gen NMD comes with a boost mid-sole and “lego blocks”. As a matter of fact, the colorway is very similar to the first edition drop of the NMD City Sock sneaker. The upper is very interesting because it is primarily circular knit (although I would have loved if it were PrimeKnit) however the medial side has a nylon-like panel. It is the same fabric that Porter uses to make their bags. A very interesting touch. There are 2 lace options, I decided to retain the 3M reflective laces on because the blue laces were a tad too much. A recurring problem with all NMD sneakers is the fact that their laces are way too long. This is something they need to fix, considering the sneaker has been in the market for 20 months.
The sneaker has a nice blue lining like all their collab versions. The regular NMD comes with cut outs through which you can see the boost. It would be nice if the insole was detachable but that doesn’t bother me. Subtle branding hits on the tongue complete the clean silhouette of this sneaker.
As per usual, I teamed the Chukka with my favourite XBYO joggers from adidas Originals keeping it all in the family. The tee to go with the look had to be something exclusive, given the sneaker being a rare find. So I went with Supreme and accessorised the look with an Omega Seamaster watch (throwing in some luxe to the fit) and the ubiquitous RayBan Wayfarers.
