My recent boost and prime knit sneaker pick-ups is a piece I put together because of my lethargy. Although I do my best to be consistent with reviews and all that, the lack of sufficient time or rather my need for sleep deprives me of it. And despite being able to churn out an unboxing/review video relatively quicker, getting down to shooting stills is something I need to work on. Because you know, once it is an old release, the relevance is kind of lost.
I have tried to be a lot more prompt with some of my recent pick-ups, but in the midst of all the chaos, I missed out on a couple. Without much further ado, some of my favourite acquisitions that I have not spoken of before on my website.
Take a look at their unboxing videos on my YouTube channel.
adidas Originals BAPE NMD
The most sought after and hyped NMD ever, with extremely limited numbers and a near impossibility of scoring a pair. I got these, thanks to a friend Samir RanaSamir Rana who lucked out at the raffle and then passed them on to me at Retail. There was just 1 pair in the UK 8 size and my friend Sahil Wason was standing in for me at the Mumbai store. He called me after it was done, to say, this dude in Vans and a Rolex walked away with the pair. And I only know one guy in Bombay who rocks a pair of Vans with a Rolex – Samir Rana. Shortly after, I rang him up. He put the sneakers on ice for a while, before he sold them to me at retail. Every time I wear these kicks and someone asks me about them, there is a story to narrate.
adidas Originals EQT Support ADV Primeknit Turbo
The kind folks at adidas Originals sent me the Primeknit Turbo EQT when I informed them about my earlier pair being misplaced. I had the OG colorway EQT which got misplaced before I could even wear it. I love this sneaker silhouette, similar to the Iniki runner but a lot more modern in it’s interpretation. If only they threw in boost on this model as well, it would be my all-rounder!
adidas Ultra Boost 2.0 Gold Medal (Olympic Pack)
The first caged Ultra Boost in my arsenal. I already own the uncaged Ultra Boost but was eager to add the caged version to my collection. All I needed was a limited edition pair. I tried on a 3.0 and found that it’s fit runs half a size bigger and since India does not do half sizes, I couldn’t pick up a pair. Which is when I began my hunt for a 2.0 in the market. This guy, part of a sneaker community in India, was kind enough to sell me a pair below retail. Have been beating them up silly, ever since!
adidas Originals X Kanye West Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Cream White
I had spoken about how I was never gonna buy a Yeezy because of what Kanye has become. But then I needed an all white summer sneaker and there I was, swiping my card at the store.
I think these sneakers got dirty the minute I laid eyes on them. I did not even have to wear them once. The first time I wore it, was to this sneaker head meet up I was hosting for adidas Originals along with the launch of their new store + the Climacool. A guy managed to spill some beer on them and then step on my feet. Safe to say, you could hear my heart breaking over the sound of the DJ playing hip hop!
This pair was the first time I went up on a 350 Boost V2, by half a size. While I usually pick a UK 8, for the cream white I went with UK 8.5 so that there was enough room for my toes to not feel constricted. I feel they are too big for my comfort though. I’d rather pull out the in-sole on a UK 8 and wear them snug. But that is my personal opinion and I love my sneakers nice and tight.
