adidas Originals Sneakerhead Meet-up and Climacool Drop Details + Store Launch

adidas Originals held it’s first sneakerhead meet-up in Bangalore, India on the 19th of May 2017. Apart from being a community initiative, it also marked the launch of their spanking new store along with the drop of the Climacool sneaker.

I hosted the sneakerhead meet-up at the adidas Originals store in Bangalore and took the audience through the collection that the sneakerheads had put on display. We had Uday Shanker and Ardy Ghosh flying in from Delhi (they manage the multi-brand sneaker outlet Veg Non Veg), DJ Kan-I from Hyderabad and Siddhanth Shetty from Bombay (he runs a restaurant), along with yours truly.

After we took the audience who were at the Bangalore adidas Originals store through our respective collection, there was a quick introduction of the all-new Climacool sneaker. It isn’t a regular silhouette, this sneaker stands out because of the way it is built. A fitting sneaker to drop at an event like this.

But if you pay close attention, you will notice that everyone of us (the sneakerheads displaying our collection at the Climacool drop) are artists of some sorts. We don’t adhere to the regular corporate/societal norms and pursue our dreams and work towards it. I don’t know if I would be pushing things by saying that all of us are what the Future is. Paving our way, fighting society and battling the odds. Pushing forth with our dreams and not taking up what is an “obvious” choice for society. All of us, dare I say, are Original.

That is exactly what adidas Originals stands for. Redefining the future, by looking at the past.

Without much further ado, as per usual, kicking things off with a video of what went down at the event from my YouTube Channel:

Here is a quick look at what some of the folks at the meet-up were wearing at the sneakerhead meet-up during the adidas Originals store launch.

Which city do you think, should be next in India to host a sneakerhead meet up? Let me know in the comments and let me see what I can do to make it happen.

A closer look at the Climacool, which was the highlight of the evening!

About the Climacool

With a heritage dating back to 2000, when visible tech was all the rage, the Climacool has an unconventional silhouette. adidas Originals dropped this sneaker right in time for summer, with it’s 360 degree breathability. Mesh uppers, ventilation at the heel and outsole, make this a very airy sneaker. And that white/gum colorway is just perfect for summer. If you can keep it clean, i.e.

I would recommend going up a full size, which I did. Because the toe cap has a TPU outline, the fit is quite snug. When you size up, the sneaker is relatively a lot more free and roomier to walk in.
