Streetwear Fit Of The Day is dedicated to putting together looks with pieces that are relevant to the scene.

I did a Streetwear Fit piece in the newer parts of Dubai, with the Rocafella Collab tee and kicks I picked up when in the Emirate.

When you think of Dubai, all that comes to mind are the high rise buildings and the Burj Khalifa. What most people do not explore are the streets and bylanes of Old Dubai (Bur Dubai). And that is what we set out to do when shooting this fit.

To go with the feel of the old city, I kept the fit minimal and monochromatic (more or less) with a pop of red to match the brick walls. I always loved the Opening Ceremony box logo tees but since they were done to death I decided to pick a similarly designed tee from Wood Wood. Based in Norrebrø Copenhagen, Denmark; Wood Wood is best described as a contemporary streetwear brand. Drawing inspiration from the street culture of the 90s, the brand constantly evolves by mixing underground style with high-end aesthetics. And this is no small inconsequential brand. Wood Wood has collaborated with the likes of Nike and adidas in the past.

Places + Faces is a lifestyle and photography brand started by 2 friends. Having begun their blog in 2013, they shot celebrities at gigs from the press pit eventually working their way up to back-stage where they shot rappers like Drake, A$AP, etc. When their Instagram and blog took off, they launched capsule collections of their merch that now pays for their travel around the globe. Their images go up on photo exhibitions and they now rub shoulders with Hip Hop’s finest. And to think, the only reason they began making merchandise was for them to wear when they were working to promote their website! It all began when Wiz Khalifa saw on of them founders wearing their namesake hoodie and asked if he could have one. The very next day, demand for their merchandise began pouring in. If that isn’t making it through the hustle, I don’t know what is.

And you have to respect the hustle!
