SoleDXB had been on my To-Do List for over 18 months and there was no way I was skipping out on it in 2017. I had begun planning my trip as early as May of this year. And when Puma asked me if I’d want to represent India as part of their crew, I jumped at the opportunity.

SoleDXB with Puma India is only the second streetwear event I have attended this year. The first one being Urban Sneaker Society in Jakarta, Indonesia. And with every experience, it keeps getting better. Like you already know, I am trying to push forward the culture in the Indian market. That has been my attempt from Day 1 of streetwear blogging. And to see a market that is smack in the middle of it. Brands, resellers, street culture celebrities, consumers, and hypebeasts – all in one venue. I spotted Mayor, Two J’s Kicks, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Jeff Staple. We exchanged words but sadly, for me, I am not one for selfies.

The Puma Box had 2 artists perform at their gig space. Anderson Paak and H.E.R. – both artists I respect and love. And it was surreal. I have been following Anderson since his XXL Cypher days and H.E.R is someone I listen to every night when I am in bed. And having them both on stage, live, in the Puma box was more than I could have asked for.

Met a bunch of interesting people from the Puma family across Europe and the Middle East, checked out local brands (Amongst Few and Up Classics) and also the main stage acts like Pusha T and Kano. IAMDDB was fun, especially since I love her track “Shade”.

Needless to say, a pre SoleDXB shopping haul had to happen. And subsequently the sneaker unboxing videos.
