Day 2 At SoleDXB With Selfish India – What I Wore

In continuation from What I Wore To SoleDXB 2018 on Day 1.

Day 2 of SoleDXB saw the Selfish Crew get their Henny on in the morning and head to the venue. We had on our prototypes as on the earlier day, for wear-testing purposes.

You can shop at wearselfish.com

The crew met with Brock Cardiner of Highsnobiety as well as Futura who was running customizations at the Levi’s Tailor Shop. We spoke about how the scene in India was progressing slowly but surely. With initiation happening through “hype” but gradually progressing to discernment.

Take a look at the images and let me know what you make of the prototypes?

Slogan Tees – Made in 2 colors (black on white and white on black) these printed tees speak about the cons of introversion and being Selfish, and how it is perceived as arrogance. These line break tees are basic-text heavy, that adds on to the aesthetic. We are currently trying varied fonts and text sizing to improve the look of the content on the back of the tee.

Murad Cargo Pants – Named after the craftsman (Hindi: कारीगर) who helped the design team fine-tune their initial iteration to perfect the fit. The Murad cargo pant is designed to be functional with slim pockets, stretch in the fabric, and zippers at the hem for varied fits. The word Murad (Arabic: مراد‎) is commonly used in the Arabic world and the meaning can be translated roughly into desired, wished for, yearned or goal. It is the commitment to outperform. The name fit the prototype, as perfectly as the prototype fit during wear-testing.
