As a brand, Quiksilver is synonymous with surfing. So you think, tall blonde Australian men with ripped bods and abs, summer tans running on white beaches and hitting the waves. Yeah, exactly, not my thing. Because food!
Quiksilver celebrate their 4th anniversary in India this May and retail across cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad through 9 exclusive outlets.
The folks at Quiksilver threw a challenge at me – how can their contemporary board shorts be put to use for anything but surfing. They were of the opinion that board shorts cannot be restricted to the waves and hence #ForNotSurfing was coined as an International campaign.
Like any other challenge, I welcomed this with open arms. Who am I kidding? I was hesitant. Could I do justice? And that is when I stepped into their store and boy was I taken aback. They had an interesting array of stuff. New Era collaboration caps, chinos, denim shirts, tees, kicks and all of that.
I tried on their board shorts and guess what, they were light as heaven. And with everyone in Bombay city complaining about soaring temperatures, I decided to hit the road in the noon with them and see how they held up. Guess what, it felt like the beach came to the heart of the city. I teamed them with a tee and denim shirt from Quiksilver while my feet were comfy in DC kicks.
Let me know what you make of the look. Would you try them for that brunch date? Perhaps a night out with the boys or say playing your favorite game of Football?
While you are at it, since May is being celebrated as the Board Shorts month, Quiksilver have a sale from the 22nd to the 31st of May 2015 across all their stores. Try them on, you will love their versatility.
