I was recently sent a PR package, that consisted of the Hector Bellerin Capsule collection. And whilst my first reaction was “Green Washing”, I decided to take a look at the composition. Doing that, kind of made me like some of the pieces. It’s been a while since I have posted on here. There’s just been so much going on. But I shouldn’t be using that as an excuse for me slacking. So here goes, the outfits I put together from the Hector Bellerin capsule collection.
Outfit Details:
Tee – 100% Organic Cotton
Sweatshirt – 64% Organic Cotton, 36% Recycled Nylon
Pants – 100% Tencel Lyocell
Parka – 64% Organic Cotton, 36% Recycled Nylon
People that know me, or those that have followed me long enough, know for a fact that I never shop at Zara or H&M. I mean those are just larger examples, I also don’t shop from most other brands that are fast-fashion in nature. And the only reason, I accepted this capsule collection was because of the conscious materials that went into it. Now whilst I won’t call this a “sustainable” collection, I do need to give credit where credit is due. And that is with the materials used in this capsule. It also introduced me to all that Hector Bellerin is doing as an individual, in his quest to raise awareness of the future of the planet.
My favourite pieces from the drop are the Navy Trousers and The Grey/Green Sweatshirt. Although, considering the lockdown, I have no idea when any of these pieces are going to see wear time.
However, I feel the need to urge you all to only buy what you really need. And to take care of your clothes, so they last long. That way, they do not end up in land fills and ruin the environment. Also, take a look at your wardrobe and if there are clothes you haven’t worn in the last 6-12 months, I would ask you to put them all in a carton and donate them. Remember, handing down doesn’t mean clothes that are torn and tattered. In fact, if at all you hand down, it should be clothes that are in good/wearable condition. Do think about it, though.

Sneakers:

I stopped buying from Jack and Jones back in 2015, it’s turned into a discount brand and that is not ideal. For me personally, that’s when the brand died.
