Streetwear Fit is a segmented dedicated to functional outfits that are effortless in the real sense and don’t need you to spend hours putting together a look.

In this post, I go with yet another minimal fit, keeping it monochromatic with a bit of pop (literal) on the tee.

Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan XI when Michael Jordan was in retirement from Basketball. Tinker hoped MJ would make a comeback and play in these. The Air Jordan 11 hadn’t gone into production when MJ decided to come back to NBA. Which is why they typically have the number 45 on them, instead of the 23. When Michael Jordan saw these sneakers he wanted to wear them to a game, against what Nike and Tinker Hatfield advised. As during his first pair’s release, when he was fined for wearing the Air Jordan 1 on the court, MJ was fined USD 5K for not adhering to the Bulls uniform colorway code.

The Air Jordan XI sprung to widespread fame when Michael Jordan wore them in the Space Jam movie.

The sneaker came with a bunch of changes from earlier versions to make it as advanced as possible at the time. It came with a ballistic mesh upper, that made it lighter. The carbon fiber shank in the iced out transculent soles gave more flexibility and push. But what really stood out in the Air Jordan XI compared to earlier versions is the use of patent leather. Along with being lightweight, it ensured stretch was kept to a minimum to enable player feet to stay on the footbed as they played and changed directions on the court.

The patent leather lent the Air Jordan XI a certain level of dressiness. Which is why a lot of people began pairing them with formal and smart wear, including suits.
