Nike Sportswear launched the Nike Air Max BW (Big Window) to commemorate Air Max Day which is on the 26th of March.
Here is a quick review video where we take a closer look at the sneaker and also on-feet:
I also recently wrote all about the Air Max Day on my website here.
In this post, I give you a glimpse of Bangalore city through the Big Window! Bangalore. The old city with broad spaces to breathe and narrow spaces to travel. Modern in it’s approach to theatre and art. Where good is made the old fashioned way and beer is crafted to modern tastes.
The good old law and order towers over mortals, whilst modern methods of keeping watch over the city makes it amongst the safest places in the country. We watch this contrasting city through our big window, as the cool breeze gently brushes past our face.
Much like the Nike Air Max BW. A true classic that combines old school cool with new age technology to bring you a modern light weight retro sneaker.
The Air Max BW was launched in 1991 and was popularly referred to as the Air Max Classic. Now you are thinking why would they call it the Big Window. Well that, my friends, refers to the larger than usual air bubble in the heel of the sneaker in comparison to the other Air Max kicks.
I got the navy over white color-way in the Ultra finish. Which is a good thing because it adds breathability keeping in mind how summer has hit us out of nowhere. So now, the Classic comes in a stripped-down, light-weight, version. It features a thermo-welded panel construction which is devoid of stitches, an unpadded tongue and the minimalist ultra out sole that looks like it is scooped out.
There is no denying that the OG’s will always retain their appeal. But these upgraded versions bring functionality into the world of sneaker style. And what can be better than an OG sneaker that is now a whole lot lighter and breathes well too.
You can buy the limited drop Nike Air Max BW Ultra sneaker at stores and on Myntra now.

We shot this sneaker at Cubbon Park in Bangalore. Having spent close to a year in the city, I had never once ventured into this place until the 20th of March. I was pretty blown away with the people around. There were kids playing, youngsters cricketing (lol) and senior citizens walking briskly. It was surreal, with streaks of sunlight glistening through the foliage. Sights of fallen flowers and leaves. If it weren’t so far from where I live and the traffic in this damned city, I would perhaps go back there frequently. It is the perfect place to go for a run and get fit. You breathe in fresh air as well! I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a bit of nature.
