The next time you see someone wearing a pair of Levi’s jeans, remember that those denims are a direct descendant of that first pair made back in 1873. Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis turned denim, thread and a little metal into what has become the most popular apparel on Earth.

I live for the weekends. Or lately, for the alternate weekends. When in Bombay, Bandra was my spot. It was home. I’d be there all the time like they were giving away free beef steaks and beer. I haven’t had that kind of an association with Bangalore. Despite the time I have spent here. It perhaps has more to do with me, hesitant to accept a new place. Besides, have you heard that you cannot drive a non KA registered car in Bangalore for more than 30 days? A ridiculous and archaic money leeching approach the legislation uses here to cash in on the immigrant population, Bangalore being an IT hub. So anyway, they impounded my car the first day I decide to go to the gym, the 3 months I have been in this city. And then began a series of painful negotiations but sadly nothing worked. 45 days in, I get a letter from the Regional Transport Office telling me if I didn’t get my car out, they reserved the right to auction it off.

45 days and 100,000 INR later my car was finally with me. And that co-incided with the long weekend. It was decided. The next 3 days were going to be spent on the road. Just driving. Driving. Going across the state with me at the wheel. New places, new experiences.

I needed the long drive, the car deserved it.

I was going to live like I love to live. I was going to live on the road. I was going to live in the moment for the next 72 hours. I was going to live in Levi’s. #LiveInLevis

All this talk about denims going out of fashion and active wear being the flavour of the season had me wondering. Wondering if something as iconic as jeans would ever go out? They haven’t been around for 100s of years to be beaten by yoga pants. No sir. Denims can take a beating like nothing else. I jumped into a lake with my 501 CT‘s on and then let them dry on me. I shrunk them to my body. Having worn them 3 days, they now have taken the shape of my body perfectly.

The Indigo shirts are like the color on my hair. With every wash, with every beating it takes it fades uniquely. No two shirts will fade the same, that is how they wear out on you.

My favourite bit of the all Levi’s wardrobe were the denim jackets. I have been on the look out for denim jackets for the longest time and these look so legit, I think I am a convert. Waiting for a black tie affair so I can rock these 😉
