Whilst everyone else is worried about staying warm in Winter, there are very few who manage to pull off layers without looking like they stepped out of their house to shovel the driveway.

Of course, the winters in India aren’t that aggressive. I remember walking into Frankfurt AM at 9 in the morning in December thinking “Is this the best Germany winters can do?!”. Within 45 minutes, I was rushing into the friendly neighbourhood H&M store to warm myself with their heaters and shuddering like I was naked in the Antarctic. Heh. Memories..
One thing I have found indispensable in Indian climates, is the scarf. The utility of a scarf has a large bandwidth for men. The women in India, literally drape a scarf in some iteration every single day. It could be the dupatta, scarf, shawl, the free hanging side of the saree, what have you. Also, it doesn’t help that men have body temperatures that are 2 degrees higher than a woman’s. Which is why, even in the peak of summer you are bound to see a lady huddled up in layers (mostly a colleagues hoodie) at the workplace, when the men roll up their sleeves and hike up their trouser hems!

GQ India did a trend report in their September 2015 issue, and this is part 2 of that collaboration. I did another take of the trend here. The trend report had prints, an all grey ensemble, accessories and the works. Some of these pieces of mine have never seen the light of day before this shoot. Some of them, might stay in my wardrobe unless I move to Berlin or Frankfurt in winter!
I took the shawl I got from Blur and styled it differently – I wore it under my Olive Green military jacket, threw it around my neck over a monochromatic ensemble and also draped it under my bomber jacket like you can see in the images.
How do you like styling your scarf/shawl? I am interested in knowing.
