Cinemagraphs are still photographs in which a minor and repeated movement occurs.

Along the way you meet people. People who do a lot more than we realize on the outset. I have been surprised by the amount of talent folks possess, yet resign themselves to a desk job rather than chase their dreams. I was one of them not too long ago. Because we need those jobs to pay the bills and sustain the lifestyle that we have gotten ourselves used to. Pay that car loan or that excruciatingly expensive house loan at high interest rates.

One such person was my manager at my previous job – PS Rajesh. This man is a photographer. He dabbles in everything he can get an opportunity to shoot. As a farewell present on my resignation, he offered to make me a few cinemagraphs for my blog. I jumped at the opportunity.

A cinemagraph creates the illusion of looking at a video. Whilst it is a still image, minor elements move constantly that make it appear as though the image has come alive. The term “cinemagraph” was coined by U.S. photographers Kevin Burg and Jamie Beck, who used the technique to animate their fashion and news photographs beginning in early 2011.

Hence, before we take a look at the images, a little exclamation with pomp and show is necessary.
