Growing up, socks were worn as part of my school uniform checklist. Mostly black, navy blue or white they served no purpose other than absorb the perspiration from your foot or keep you warm during winters.
Did you know the foot is among the heaviest producers of sweat in the human body and is capable of dishing out over half a litre in a day?!
So anyway, it has been about 8 years now that I have been fascinated with printed socks. I began by playing it safe, sticking to basic stripes in similar shades. Eventually I graduated to multi colored socks but with a darker base, like black. Well, right now, there just are no rules.
This edition looks at the feet of some of our readers. Their favorite pairs of socks, to be precise. We requested them to upload their favorite pair on Instagram/Facebook with the hash tag #sockittoyou. And somewhere along the way, I found a few more enthusiasts and wrote to them, for inclusion on this post.
