adidas Originals Superstar Boost Customised!

The kind folks at adidas Originals sent me a pair of their latest Superstar Boost. As if that were not enough, they had them customised for me.

We take a closer look at the detailing on the sneakers.

I have 3 pairs of the adidas Originals Superstars in my dwindling collection. I have the Pharrell William Superstar and the Superstar 80s Clean, apart from a pair that has been beaten pretty bad. If you click on the hyperlinks you will know a lot more about them and why they are so iconic! I won’t go into those details in this post. Shall keep it nice and easy.

Like you should already know, Boost has played a massive role in getting adidas Originals to the forefront of sneaker sales in 2016. They saw insane increase in sales and stock prices in comparison to competition. And it was only a matter of time before they threw in Boost into the Superstar and Stan Smith models.

The ride and comfort are tremendously improved on these kicks with the introduction of Boost. I mean, they are classics right and what is the best thing you could do to them without tampering with the aesthetics? Improve the walk. It is miles ahead of the classic adidas Originals Superstar. Boost truly is a game changer. I think this sneaker will help me downsize my collection by 3 more pairs now, Superstars to be specific. When I have this comfy a Superstar, I think I can give-away/sell my earlier sneakers.

Go true to size with these kicks, the leather on the upper is tumbled and super soft. Almost buttery. Don’t think I own any other supple leather sneaker. The shell toe is as always, same with flat laces. There are Boost cut outs on the in-sole like on the NMD. The Boost is exposed on the medial side of the sneakers, like it poured out of the mould. I like that touch.

I got lace dubrae’s on my kicks. My website name was etched on either metal lace locks. As for the EVA outer sole, they got my name laser etched on either pair too. Nice touch. I could have gotten a few more tweaks but decided to leave it at these 2 elements.
